The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer Is Here

The highly anticipated Jeep Wagoneer is finally here and it is already turning heads, not all if the right ones though. It’s been 11 years since Jeep had a full-size three row SUV, which has forced many Jeep loyalists to look elsewhere for their full-sized needs. However, Jeep has come out swinging with the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, with their eyes set on knocking out the likes of the Chevy Tahoe, Suburban as well as other GM luxury SUVS like the Denali and Escalade. The Grand Wagoneer is specifically targeting the luxury SUV market in both features and pricing, the six figure price tag has some money managers concerned.

2022 Wagoneer

The Wagoneer is designed to be the economical alternative for those interested in the styling and capability offered in the platform but cannot manage the premium price of the Grand Wagoner. Powered by a 5.7-liter V-8 engine – rated at 392 horsepower and 404 lb-ft. of torque – fitted with the next generation of eTorque 48-volt hybrid with fuel-saving technologies, it is a well equipped to compete with it’s peers.

Our Concerns

Jeep has jumped into the deep end of a very competitive segment with a price tag that is tough to swallow. While car prices have skyrocketed over the past few years both the Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer are more expensive than their peers with similar trims. Payments on new full-size SUVs are looking far to similar to mortgages. However Jeep has continued to sell Gladiators, and Wranglers at prices much higher than most would have considered possible only time will tell if the market can handle the cost. From a comfort, tech, capability and price standpoint Jeep has set a new bar for full-size SUVs. What do you think of the Wagoneer? Let us know in the comments.
