10 Easy Jeep Gladiator Mods

The Jeep Gladiator has quickly become one of the best selling models from the Jeep brand. Jeep Wranglers and trucks have long been some of the most popular vehicles to upgrade so combining the two into a truck is a dream come true for many. With so many choices it can be difficult to know where to start. We have put together a list of 10 easy mods for the Jeep Gladiator. The first 5 come from our friends over at ExtremeTerrain.com.

1. Upgraded Floor Mats:
Jeep Gladiator Floor Mats
If you plan to take your Jeep off-road or just want to help keep the interior clean a set of full coverage floor mats make an excellent upgrade. First of all they are super easy to install, simply remove your factory mats and push these into place. In less time than it will take to read this article you will be all set. We like the Weathertech 3d floor mats. They cover the entire footwell of the Jeep. They are sturdy and will last forever. You can pick up a set at Extremeterrain.com for around $120

2. Rugged Ridge Grab Handles:
Jeep Gladiator Grab Handles
Getting in an out of your Gladiator and enhanced comfort while driving off-road are just two of the benefits of these grab handles. The stylish straps simply wrap around the roll-bar of the Gladiator and use a heavy duty velcro strap to stay in place. Again only minutes to install and the benefits are all yours. We are huge fans of paracord grab handles because they are soft and comfortable to hold onto, and if you happen to bump them getting in and out they do not leave a mark like metal grab handles. Pickup your set for under $40.

3. Inyo Gladiator Grill:
Inyo Jeep Gladiator Grill
Aftermarket grills are one of the most controversial parts in the aftermarket space. Love them or hate them you are bound to have a strong opinion about them. We like the Inyo Grill because it is easy install and is a great way to personalize your Jeep if you are into that kind of thing. Simply remove your OE grill and put this right in it’s place. Personalize your Gladiator for just under $200 dollars.

4. Side Steps Or Rock Sliders:
DSS Gladiator Sliders
Side steps are going to make getting in and out of your Gladiator easier. While there are plastic versions out there or even metal versions with drop down steps we are not a fan of these. Plastic side steps just cannot hold up to the abuse of trail riding. If you never plan to take your Gladiator off-road then they will suffice but we highly recommend taking it off-road. Sliders or steps that hang down are prone to getting hung up on rocks. But a nice flat step that gives you something to step on and up is perfect. Easy to install using factory mounting points you can have a set of steps installed in just a couple of hours. The added protection and convenience will make you very happy you made this $450 upgrade.

5. Cold Air Intake:
Jeep Gladiator Cold Air Intake
While we are big fans of the 3.6L engine in the Gladiator it can benefit from a little bit of extra performance. A good Cold air intake is going to be a nice way to increase torque and horsepower without needing a tuner. The K&N Blackhawk Cold Air Intake utilizes the factory mounting points and is a simple plug and play solution. While working inside the engine bay can be intimidating rest assured this is an easy upgrade that will take you less than an hour to do in your garage. Increased power and better MPGs are just a few of the benefits Jeepers are happy with in real world use.

6. Tonneau Bed Cover:
Gladiator Bed Cover
The versatility of a truck is what makes the Gladiator so special. However keeping your gear safe, out of sight and clean can be hard at times. That is why we recommend a Tonneau cover. The soft rolling cover from Rugged Ridge is really nice, easy to install and the perfect way to keep your gear safe and clean. Check current price on Amazon.

7. Bullet Proof Designs Phone Mount:
Jeep Gladiator Phone Mount
Keeping your phone secure while driving off-road, as well as convenient, close and easy to use while on pavement is super helpful. One of our favorite upgrades to our Jeep has been a phone and action camera mount from Bullet Proof Designs. We are currently working on a long term review of this mount (spoiler alert we love it). Super easy to install and very sturdy this mount will allow you to put your phone in the perfect position for off-road navigation and safe on pavement operation. It’s an upgrade we use every single day and one we wish we had added a long time ago. For under $80 it is one of the best upgrades you can make on your Gladiator.

8. Jeep Gladiator Bed Rack:
Jeep Gladiator Bed Racks
If you are planning on carrying water toys, a rooftop tent or just need a few more places to mount gear like a shovel or fire extinguisher. Adding a bed rack to your Gladiator is the perfect solution. Bed racks can get pricey ranging from around $400 up to $2,000 depending on the design, functionality and layout. However, we really like the Freedom Rack at ExtremeTerrain.com. With a few simple crossbars and all of the needed hardware you can have this added to your Gladiator in less than an hour. Now you have the flexibility to start mounting gear to the rack leaving that bed space available for other important gear.

9. Rugged Ridge Armis Swing Case:
Jeep Gladiator Bed Storage
Using the bed of your Gladiator to store gear and tools is likely a big reason you bought one vs a Jeep Wrangler. Keeping that gear safe can be a tricky. Enter the Rugged Ridge Armis swing case and you have the perfect solution. It mounts just inside the bed of the Gladiator near the tailgate. With the tailgate down you can swing the case out making it easy to access from the rear of the truck. It is made of durable lightweight ABS plastic and comes with a nice secure lock. It is perfect for storing trail gear, tools and frequently accessed camping gear. Installs in under 30 minutes and works with Tonneau cover all for under $200.

10. Jeep Gladiator Window Deflectors:
Jeep Gladiator
Window deflectors are a simple upgrade that adds loads of comfort to your driving experience. The flat box shape of the Gladiator makes it easy for the blasting sun to pour in on you through the windows. These deflectors block and tint the sun coming in at eye level. They help keep the sun out of your eyes and help cool the radiant heat blasting the window. Easy to install with super adhesive you will be glad you did it. Check Amazon for current pricing.
